Its current leader is Oda Nobunaga (although Rance leads the Clan from the shadows). They used to have the greatest number of territories, but since the death of the previous Lord in the Great Youkai War, they only have the province of Owari left. The feudal Clan Rance joins at the beginning of the game. The events of Sengoku Rance starts during the 4th Sengoku Era, when Rance joins the Oda Clan to become their secret ruler. But at times, when the country is not united under a single leader, it enters into a "Sengoku Era" where every Clan is fighting each other to gain territory and trying to unify Nippon. The main political system is a feudal one, with each Lord ruling provinces. Due to the presence of the Holy Beast Orochi hiding in the island, the country is also filled with mysterious and humanoid creatures named Youkai.
